From the top of the hill to the southeast, Ellsworth Air Force Base and the lights of Rapid City can be seen at night. The lights of Wall, eight miles distant are on the Eastern skyline. The Jensen Ranch, Inc is located in South Western, one mile South of Interstate 90, near Wasta. It is less than 40 miles East of Rapid City and the Black Hills. The southern Point of the ranch is 4 miles to the North West Entrance to Badlands National Park (BNP).

The Jensen Ranch is East and South of the Cheyenne River, the Headquarters being 3 miles South of Interstate 90 Exiting at #101 Jensen Road. It it 400 feet above the Cheyenne River with breaks surrounding nearly all of the Jensen Flat. The Exit, the Flat, and the Ranch are all named for the Jensen Family who were the first to homestead in this locale.

Wall, South Dakota is 8 miles East, as the crow flies, and home of the world famous Wall Drug Store. With a Municipal Airport (6V4) at 2810' elevation, it offers 3,500' of asphalt lighted runway and accommodates large twin-engine aircraft and some smaller private jet traffic. Rapid City Regional Airport offers several commercial carriers, including American Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta, Frontier, & United.
