The purpose of CCIIR is threefold. CCIIR serves as a communications network for members whereby:

1. Current exclusively listed property and market information may be shared. Clients and property matching may take place in a timely fashion with an emphasis upon cooperation among members.
   
2. CCIIR provides an environment for professional enrichment and development among its members by sponsoring seminars. Lectures, and workshops pertaining to current Commercial, Industrial or Investment real estate issues.
   
3. CCIIR ensures quality and cost-effective service to Commercial, Industrial, or Investment real estate public by establishing and enforcing strict membership requirements and peer review systems.

CCIIR was formed informally in 1974 by a small group of visionary Columbus area realtors who recognized a need to create an organized forum whereby those real estate practitioners who devoted substantially all of their professional time to Commercial, Industrial or Investment real estate would have easy access to quality information about Commercial, Industrial or Investment real estate properties available for sale or lease.

Recognizing as well the specialized and complex nature of Commercial, Industrial or Investment real estate, its organizers committed CCIIR to promoting education and professionalism among its members. Through years of increasing complexity within the Commercial, Industrial or Investment real estate market, CCIIR has maintained its focus on Communication, Education and Professionalism, while adapting to market needs and demands.

CCIIR is an association comprised of individual membership through one of three member classifications.

ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP is available only to those individuals who:

1. Are licensed to sell real estate in the State of Ohio.
2. Are members in good standing of the National Association of Realtors.
   
3. Are engaged full time in the Commercial, Industrial or Investment real estate business.
   
4. Have established themselves as specialized Commercial, Industrial or Investment real estate practitioners by virtue of proven experience and service in the business.
   
5. Have obtained the endorsement of other CCIRR active members.

CANDIDATE MEMBERSHIP is available to Commercial, Industrial or Investment practitioners and devotees as a vehicle for professional development under the watchful eye of an active member sponsor. This member classification requires timely and steady progression toward active membership.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is available to other Commercial, Industrial or Investment professionals who do not meet full or candidate member qualifications, but who offer benefits to CCIIR and its members by virtue of their professional knowledge and experience. Associate membership is open to financial institutions, developers, title agencies, appraisers and other related businesses.

As a Commercial, Industrial or Investment Real Estate Owner, you will benefit from working with a CCIIR member in the following ways:

1. CCIIR members ensure maximum exposure of your property to other members, buyers and tenants in a timely fashion. This exposure will result in you receiving the highest price in the shortest marketing period. It has been estimated that our membership conducts 90% of the Commercial brokerage in Franklin County.
2. CCIIR members are reviewed by their peers to evaluate experience, education, professionalism and past ethical conduct, thus providing you with the best qualified representation.
3. CCIIR members must specialize in the practice of Commercial, Industrial or Investment brokerage and must derive substantially all of their income from this source. The organization does not accept part time practitioners.
4. CCIIR members benefit owners from the training and educational programs sponsored by CCIIR, as well as exposure to new ideas and past experiences shared by our membership.

In addition to the benefits above, CCIIR members also benefit tenants, buyers and users of Commercial real estate.

1. CCIIR members have access to information about every property type available in the marketplace, thus permitting buyers, tenants and users to review a full array of properties in a quiet and timely fashion.
2. CCIIR members have access to market data which permits clients and customers to make informed decisions based on comparable properties.
