Mr. Jim Cook of John Cook Golf Course Construction and Design has joined the staff as Project Manager and will oversee the construction of the golf course. The Cooks have designed and built Cooks Creek Golf Club and Northstar Golf Club in the Columbus area. John Cook is currently on the PGA tour.
The concept of The Ohio Club brings the love of the game of golf together with the pride and spirit of the university alumni providing a place for returning alumni to play golf on an 18-hole championship quality golf course and socialize in a resort type clubhouse environment. This similar alumni based program is currently operating at the Universities of South Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Alabama, and Auburn. The original architect of the university concept, Mr. Carl Espy, has been retained as a consultant for The Ohio Club.
The Ohio Club has signed a marketing agreement with the Ohio University Alumni Association to assist The Ohio Club in reaching over 162,000 active alumni, offering golf or social memberships at different levels by region of their residence. Ohio University will also feature The Ohio Club in their quarterly magazine publication.
