Description
The majestic glory of Horse Mtn., dominates this 5,486 acres working cattle and hunting ranch! Much of the property is farmable with 287 acres irrigated by three pivots and another 123 acres by wheel lines. The farmable land is in the Tule Irrigation District, also has three of its own private wells which pump over 3,800 gallons a minute. Water won't be an issue for the owner of this land, and having your own water source is a huge deal in California. The ranch also has 100 acres of dry land farming and 4,976 acres of range land. The 176'X 75' barn holds 2000 tons of hay which is quite necessary as the farmable land, at 3 cuttings per year, produces 5 tons of orchard grass and alfalfa per acre. In addition, the ranch has a 10,000 acre Forest Service allotment which can run 216 head of cattle. The Forest Service land is just a 3 day ride out your back gate, into the Doublehead and Devil's Garden Ranger Districts. The 2 x-2 zone land owner tags for mule deer come in handy as the national forest is your neighbor. The county of Modoc, California is famous for its excellent Rocky Mountain Mule Deer hunting, as well as antelope, wild horses, and herds of elk.
