Rainbow Canyon
Rainbow Canyon is named for its spectacular rainbow colored rock walls. Meadow Valley Wash, a year-round spring fed stream, waters thousands of trees along its banks as it flows through the canyon. Ancient Indians inhabited the canyon and artifacts recovered from caves carbon date their occupation to 5,000 years ago. In the 1870s the early pioneer settlers established ranches in the canyon to supply beef, fruit and vegetables to the surrounding mining towns. Apple and pear orchards from that era still produce abundant fruit in the canyon. Also, Kershaw-Ryan State Park, approximately 5 miles north of the ranch is famous for the grapevines that cover the park' s canyon walls. The grapevines have also survived from earlier times when the ranchers grew fruit for the mining towns.

Rainbow Canyon Ranch
The Rainbow Canyon Ranch consists of 80 +/- acres. Water rights, 100 acre-feet annually, are available for purchase separately. This ranch has the most colorful rock wall backdrop in Rainbow Canyon. The ranch includes all of the private land east of the Union Pacific Railroad and is surrounded by federal lands. A very private, secluded location in the canyon.

Drive Interstate 15 north from Las Vegas, NV approximately 20 miles to the Highway 93 exit. Drive Highway 93 North to Caliente, NV. Drive Highway 317 south from Caliente into Rainbow Canyon for approximatley 10 miles. Highway goes under railroad, continue south to first left turn onto gravel road that goes over the railroad tracks.
