Description

The Great Chinook Lodge is a two-level peeled log upscale lodge which easily accommodates 14+ guests with 4+ large bedrooms and 5 bathrooms; two additional accommodating out- buildings are also located on 2 fee simple acres which back up to the National Forest. A new 1800 SF gym is currently under construction and will be equipped with apx $17,000 of appropriate new gym equipment at completion. The Lodge overlooks Glacier Bay from its 3-gabled roof; its interior eminates a warm and gracious atmosphere with its artful and well appointed decor with furs, leather, stain glass and massive stone fireplace. The upscale chef's kitchen with oversize appliances is a delight and easily serves a crowd. Built in 2000 by current owner and managed as a successful fishing enterprise with three nearly new boats, equipment, licenses and fully furnished lodge, boat trailers and trucks included. Known for excellent fishing i.e. 404 lb. Halibut caught in August this year.

The Great Chinook Lodge is located in the close vicinity of Glacier Bay, Gustavus where exceptional fishing is conducted on lodge boats with professional, licensed captains. Trailers are included to move boats when not moored at the pier. The location of the lodge is picturesque on flat land encircled with trees and wild life. Across Glacier Bay the State of Alaska is in progtess of building a deep water dock where large boats and barges will have access carrying visitors and supplies; (plans are available).
