Hutchinson is located in McLeod County, just one hour west of the Minneapolis metro area. The McLeod County trade area has a resident population of more than 37,000 and includes the cities of Hutchinson, Glencoe, Silverlake, Winstead, Lester Prairie, Biscay, Plato, Stewart, and Brownton. McLeod County is projecting a population increase of more than 5,000 residents by 2020. The 25 mile radius trade area also includes portions of Meeker and Wright Counties as well, with total population in excess of 100,000.
