Description
The US Post Office and Customs building was completed in 1875 and enlarged in 1918 with additions on each wing. The entire structure underwent a complete restoration to include modern amenities, while protecting the historic nature of the property in 1984. It is now listed in the National Historic Register of historic buildings. As part of the renovation, the site was expanded to include a new retail and office village.
The Old Post Office is located at 100 NW 2nd Street in the heart of the downtown Evansville business, financial, retail and cultural districts; one block from the Ohio River and one block from the Main Street walkway.
