Founded in 1997, TexAmericas Center is a special purpose district, or Local Redevelopment Authority, of the state of Texas. Its mission is to redevelop former military property in Bowie County Texas. TexAmericas Center has the operating capabilities of a municipality but functions like a traditional industrial real estate development and management company, offering customized real estate solutions. In addition to controlling our own zoning and permitting processes and sustaining the life cycle of public infrastructure on the complex, TAC has the capability to lease, build-to-suit, or facilitate greenfield owner-constructed projects in a timely and efficient manner. It is one of the largest mixed-use industrial parks in the state of Texas and the United States. The property is divided into three distinct campuses each with unique attributes. The Central Campus consists of 765 acres and over 750,000 square feet of existing office, flex and manufacturing space. As the former administrative area of the Red River Army Depot, it boasts a golf course, walking trails, exercise track, a US Army PX and the emergency services for Red River Army Depot. In recent years Texarkana College has placed its vocational school, TC@TAC, on the campus. The Central Campus offers over 200 acres of shovel-ready development sites, including the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC)-designated 101-acre S.T.A.R.
