A former dining and gathering hall for the local Catholic parish. It has two separable halls, one on each side of the kitchen. One side has 8' ceilings and the other half has 12' high ceilings. There is a 768 square foot basement. There is a 16 car parking lot behind the building with lighting. It is privately owned and not available for public parking. The front of the building has depth, with one part of the building butting up to the sidewalk and the other 34 feet from the sidewalk creating a courtyard like area.
Please note that there will be restrictions added to the deed before sale of the property.
(A) The purchaser will not use the name of the Catholic Diocese of Lansing or any derivative of that name in connection with any operations or activities on the property.
(B) The purchaser will not use the property in any of the following ways, nor will the purchaser allow a lessee or any other person or entity to use the property in any of the following ways.
(1) as any sort of assembly that represents itself to be Roman Catholic, unless that group possesses the express ecclesiastical approval of the Roman Catholic Church;
(2) as a place where abortions, sterilization, euthanasia, or destruction of human embryos occurs, or as a place where such activities are promoted or advocated, or as a place where persons are counseled or encouraged to engage in such activities;
(3) as a place where pornographic books, pictures, cassettes, discs, or other media or materials are displayed, sold, rented, or available for viewing;
(4) as a place where massages or tattoos are provided, or
(5) as a place where live performances of an “adult” character occur.
The purchaser further agrees that these covenants will run with the land, and that these covenants will be included as restrictions in the deed of conveyance as binding on the grantee, its successors and assigns.
