About 1015 LEESBURG STATION RD , MERCER, PA 16137

The 2009 Waterfall Building sits on a glacial gorge overlooking the Springfield Waterfall and the Historic Springfield Iron Furnace which was the first iron furnace in Mercer County dating from 1837-1862. The building was constructed from the stone taken from the Archaeological Dig on the property which is tied in with some board and baton walls and the green metal roof. This 3,200sf building was influenced by Frank Loyd Wright Organic Architecture and is currently being used as retail space consisting of a show floor, display counters, office, work room, private conference room and two ADA conforming restrooms. Full glass windows on the entire east side of the building provide a magnificent view of the waterfall. The entry doors into the show floor are quarter sawn oak taken from a Belgian Castle from the 19th Century. Vintage leaded glass in oak doors throughout the building. The fireplace in the main room includes a 200 year old Ohio Tavern Fireplace Mantle which is hand painted (Folk Paint) and considered a Work of Art. Over the fireplace mantle is a hand painted mural depicting the area circa1850. The Waterfall Building has public water available but is currently using spring water from the property. A septic system was installed in 2009. There is an old 1903 railroad bed that runs through the property with an old telegraph pole still in place. A security system with cameras protects the building. The Springfield Furnace was revived through an archeological dig started in 2007 and headed by John R. White from Youngstown State University. A Historic Two Story Iron Masters House (2,800 sf) built in the 1850s also sits on the property. This frame house has the original clapboard wood siding with a cedar shake roof (with breather) replaced in 2009 when the entire house was remodeled keeping everything in its original state. All original wood flooring, doors and fixtures could place this house on the PA Register of Historical Places. There is a 1/2 basement and craw space with 2 new furnaces for each floor. When remodeled the house was setup and wired to be used as a commercial business. In the 70s a breezeway and garage was added to the building keeping it’s original look. This rare commercial property that embodies a powerful ideal of Harmonizing with Nature. This property is only 4 minutes from the Grove City Premium Outlet Mall with annual visitors of 5 million per year. Bring your hiking boots when touring this property.
