The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida was conceived more than 45 years ago when its founder, Patricia Quinn Crow, envisioned a future where patients discharged from hospitals could continue receiving high-quality medical care in the comfort of their own homes. In 1976, Mrs. Crow opened the Martin County office for the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida. The office began with a small team consisting of one office manager, one nurse, and one part-time physical therapist. During its first month of operation, the staff completed 30 home health visits. In the 1980s, Mrs. Crow retired, and her son, Donald Crow, advanced through the organization from Financial Consultant to Chief Operating Officer, then CEO, and now serves as an Executive Board Member.
