South Tama Community School District (the “District”) is requesting proposals from those persons interested in purchasing the real property legally described as:
Lot Ten (10), Auditor’s Plat of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (NE1/4 SE1/4) of Section Twenty-seven (27), Township Eighty-three (83) North, Range Fifteen (15), EXCEPT the West 50 feet thereof, AND EXCEPT North 100 feet thereof, West of the 5th P.M., AND a tract of land described as: Commencing at the Southeast corner of said Lot Ten (10) of said Auditor’s Plat, thence North along East line of said Lot Ten (10) to the point where said line intersects with Tenth Street, thence East along the South line of Tenth Street to the point where said line intersects with the West line of Harmon Street, thence South along the West line of Harmon Street, to the point where said line intersects with Ninth Street, thence West along the North line of Ninth Street, to point of beginning, EXCEPT the North 100 feet thereof situated in the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (NE1/4 SE1/4) of Section Twenty-seven (27), Township Eighty-three (83) North, Range Fifteen (15), West of the 5th P.M., in Tama County, Iowa.
The property, including any improvements thereon, will be sold “as is,” with no warranties or representations as to condition, zoning, or appropriateness for any use. The property will be conveyed by deed without warranty.
Prospective bidders may view the property prior to submitting a bid by arrangement with Steve McAdoo by calling (641) 484-5702. Viewings may be scheduled between March 13, 2026 and April 10, 2026.
All offers to buy the property must include the buyer’s name, address, and phone number, and must also include a proposed price and closing date. Offer to Purchase Real Estate form is attached hereto. By submitting an offer, the bidder is warranting it has sufficient funds or pre-approved financing for the purchase price offered, which representation is subject to confirmation by the District.
Each offer must be enclosed and sealed in an envelope plainly marked with the words: “OFFER TO BUY REAL ESTATE.” Offers must be received by Business Manager Katie Mathern at the District office at 1702 Harding St. Tama, Iowa 52339 no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 10, 2026.
No offeror may withdraw their offer after the scheduled time for receipt of offers. Once the District selects the successful bidder, the successful bidder will be required to enter into a real estate purchase agreement on terms expressed in its bid and on other customary terms proposed by the District.

The District reserves the right to request additional information for the evaluation of the offers received.
