About Downtown Charlotte
Uptown Charlotte is the center of the Queen City. As the busiest commercial district in Charlotte, Uptown is home to a number of major employers, as well as an abundance of hotels, apartments, and entertainment options. The area is encompassed by Interstate 277, which provides direct access to Interstates 77, 85, 485, and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. However, Uptown is also highly walkable, and the LYNX light rail provides easy transportation to surrounding areas in the metro.
