Soddy-Daisy is located in north-central Hamilton County and is bordered by the city of Chattanooga. Soddy-Daisy is part of the Chattanooga MSA and is connected by US highway 27. Soddy-Daisy gets it electricity from the Electric Power Board of Chattanooga, with Sequoyah Nuclear Generating Station located in Soddy Daisy. Soddy Daisy was a thriving coal mining community until the 1930’s. A hosiery mill, turpentine plant, several pottery and tile kilns were active in Soddy and Daisy during the same period. In April 1969, the communities of Soddy and Daisy, extending for about 9 miles along U.S. 27, were incorporated. Chattanooga is along the Tennessee River bordering Georgia. Chattanooga is the fourth-largest city in Tennessee and one of the two principal cities of East Tennessee, along with Knoxville. Connected by multiple railroads and Interstate highways, Chattanooga is referred to as a transit hub. Located 118 miles northwest of Atlanta, Georgia, and 112 miles southwest of Knoxville, Tennessee.
