Property Overview
For nine decades, the 1937 S Santa Fe was a working factory floor on South Santa Fe Avenue. Opened in 1934, it sold, rented, and restored heavy industrial machinery for the manufacturers that powered wartime and postwar Los Angeles, with clients ranging from local fabricators to Boeing and GE, and signage hand-painted across the walls by craftsmen on ladders. The building is were engineered for that work: bow-truss ceilings sized for overhead crane loads, reinforced concrete floors built to absorb multi-ton presses, and 16-foot clear heights. Today the same structure frames dramatic studio volumes in the heart of the South Arts District, now one of LA's premier creative corridors of galleries, Michelin-recognized dining, and social clubs.
