Bell Works Holmdel in New Jersey first introduced the idea of a metroburb, which is characterized by mixed-use on a grand scale. Bell Works Chicagoland will be the second example, turning the former AT&T campus into a veritable urban oasis and providing the best of access, office, retail, entertainment, hospitality, residential, health, wellness, and fitness, all under one roof. The former AT&T campus in Hoffman Estates provides the bones for this vision with massive floor plates and a sky-lit atrium that spans the length of the structure. This throughway known as the Block is an indoor city street open to the public and lined with places to eat, drink, and shop. Energetic and ever-changing, it’s where you can develop your next great idea on a lunchtime walk, run an errand before heading out, or just relax with a drink and some friends. At either end of the Block are light and airy neighborhood gathering places known as the Squares. One-part park, one-part front stoop, they’re where serendipitous encounters lead to inspiration and the cross-pollination of culture and ideas. The amenities in this self-contained metropolis do not stop there. The Fit Lab will provide a 30,000 square-foot health club that features events like yoga and boxing.
