DAIP’s Duluth Family Visitation Center (DFVC) works to restore safety and repair harm in the lives of women and children after abuse. The DFVC supervises visits and exchanges with the child and the parent responsible for the abuse. Our focus is building safe and positive relationships. “My child witnessed fighting and abuse for three years before we started coming here. Using the center has made a huge impact on my child in that way. If we didn’t use these services he would have continued to abuse me, mess with me, etc. If exchanges were elsewhere I know he would still pressure and manipulate me. I’d be vulnerable and he would use that to his benefit. Now he has to re-learn how to deal with our relationship appropriately.
