About the Property

Located in downtown New Hope, the Beaumont House is a fine example of Georgian-Style architecture built in the federal period around the end of the 18th century. Originally, the house was level with West Ferry Street, but the construction of the Delaware Canal in the 1820s required the street to be raised to meet the bridge spanning the canal. John Addison Beaumont (1757-1834) had extensive landholdings in the area and once owned the Inn, known as the Logan Inn, The Ferry and the land on which the Parry Mansion was built.
