The restaurant is strategically located in the heart of Shakopee retail trade area which is also adjacent to the majority of Shakopee’s residential population, Valley Faire Amusement Park, Canterbury Park, and the major industrial parks in North Shakopee. Pizza Hut is also the closest restaurant to the Valleyfair amusement park which is a 125 acre amusement park with over 70 rides and seven acre Soak City water park which draws a large number of visitors during summer months. Pizza Hut receives a considerable amount of dinner and late-night business from Valleyfair visitors. Pizza Hut also receives a considerable amount of dinner and late-night business from Canterbury Park horse racing facility on weekends when the track is open. Canterbury Park has partnered with a local developer for a $400 million project that will eventually include nearly 600 apartments, 100 townhouses and senior housing, and a boutique hotel which will further strengthen the local trade area. Shakopee is a suburb of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Twin Cities market with approximately 40,000 residents which is located approximately 30 minutes Southwest of downtown Minneapolis on the south side of the Minnesota river. Shakopee is also the county seat of Scott County and houses with all of the Scott County administrative facilities and offices. Shakopee is a member of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan statistical area - the sixteenth largest in the nation. Starting in 1995 Shakopee began to experience explosive population growth as a bedroom community to the Twin City MSA which has lead to a number of new retail and commercial developments throughout the city.
