281 Albany Street is a CMP manufacturing facility built by Alkermes, Inc. in 1998 for the production of injectable controlled-released growth hormone. The building is a class 100,000 clean room faciltiy. Possible uses include small scale manufacturing, pilot plant, or conversion to animal vivarium. Systems include RO/DI water, WFI water, clean stream, plant steam for process needs, high temperature hot water boilers, liquid and gaseous nitrogen, 2,000 KVA electrical feeders, compressed air, card access and closed circuit monitoring. The building is located essentially on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This building has a Bio-Tech/Lab Space.
