Twelve comfortable guest rooms beckon weary travelers from around the world. The old Gregory Inn estate is located in upstate New York, west of the Berkshires. The town of Sand Lake is the center of the historic patroon region, an area once owned by Stephen Van Rensselaer. La Perla at the Gregory House offers overnight accommodations in impeccably kept rooms. The twelve guest rooms have been recently refurbished, each with a unique theme. Choose from The Cabin, The Adirondack Room, Touch of Italy, Granny’s Room, The Nautical, The Victorian Retreat, The Farm, The Rose Garden, Mother Nature’s Retreat, The Tranquility Garden, Country Getaway, or The Exotic Escape. In November of 2000, the current owners purchased the Gregory House. They redecorated all 12 rooms, giving each one its own theme. They also enhanced the restaurant section of the Gregory House by adding a new bar and dining area (complete with a firewood brick oven) allowing guests to choose between a fine dining experience or the more casual "light fare" menu. La Perla Restaurant Voted "Best New Restaurant in the Capital District" in 2001, La Perla Restaurant at the Gregory House offers an authentic Italian dining experience. Chef Alfonso Acampora will delight your senses with his wonderful menu. With four candle-lit dining rooms offering fine dining, you will be made to feel right at home. An even shorter drive will take you to Tanglewood , the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In autumn, the spectacular colors of the regional foliage offer stunning vistas. Visit one of the numerous orchards and farms in the area to pick apples and pumpkins while enjoying fresh apple cider and doughnuts. A scenic trip to Vermont will introduce you to some great antique hunting locations. Wintertime offers a number of local mountains for skiing and tobogganing in the Adirondacks and Berkshires. Jiminy Peak is just 15 miles from our front door. There is no better place to retreat after a cold day in the snow than by a roaring fire in our main dining room or at our new bar. In spring, the temperature starts to warm, and the trees and Country flowers begin to bloom. With the number of mountains and lakes nearby, there is plenty of hiking, boating and fishing to be done. Located a short drive from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and even closer to the Emma Willard School, the Gregory House also provides a convenient location for visiting parents of students attending these fine schools.
