The site is protected and incentivized by a Brownfield Agreement (attached) and is within the Lexington Historic Industrial District listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is not within a local historic district. It is also adjacent to a federally funded project to build a passenger rail station and develop a grade separation at 5th Avenue.
