ABOUT DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH

Just a handful of similar success stories will transform Pittsburgh, and that’s not a moonshot either. The city’s universities specialize in advanced AI, biotech, and robotics, three fields with immense growth potential. Over $750 million in VC funding has been put in the market over the past three years, and during that same time, more than 130,000 square feet of co-working projects delivered in Pittsburgh’s Central Business District.
These firms are bringing in heavy levels of outside money, and creating nascent live/work/play scenes around them. Owners are boosting their assets appeal by investing a considerable amount into renovations. A 2019 Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership study shows that over $300 million has been spent on upgrading downtown assets like One Oxford Center over the past five years, and developers have been adding restaurants and retail options in areas like Market Square.
