"I happened on my first old town Ellicott City Courtyard concert by accident” recalls business and building owner, James Pallikal, of how he discovered the cool stone building which would become his first business and commercial building purchase.
“I was heading to meet friends at Lapa Lapa, a poplar local restaurant in town, and the BOOM, BOOM, BOOM of the music really pulled me in!” he recalls.
“There was a Courtyard along the parking lot that was just packed with people; some sitting at tables, others standing and swaying to the music and still more crossed legged in the grass with little ones in tow.” he continues.
“I was completely taken over by the experience,” James says, “..and all at once, I found myself and my friends among the crowd having the best time!” he smiles.
“I learned that evening the local businesses along the row put together and promote the concerts every weekend. I grabbed a few more friends for the following and, while there learning more of the place and the people and the community, I glimpsed a crooked for sale sign on a little stone building right in its midst,” he continued.
“Now, I’m in pharmaceutical research and development and have no absolutely no business buying a building and trying to open business,” laughs James, “but when I saw that old stone building and all the people around, it moved me beyond what I can really explain.”
“Soon I had the space and became a part of that place with no real business being there but every reason to stay.”
