Existing Colonial-era recently renovated farmhouse. This dwelling maintains the historic colonial atmosphere with hardwood floors, exposed beams and white cedar beaded paneling. Arsenic free soils have been confirmed by soil testing. This farm has been certified organic by NJDOA since 2011 and is currently producing fruits and vegetable crops including 2 acres of mature blueberries and ¾ acre of productive asparagus.
Farm is fully enclosed by 8-ft high woven deer fencing. Hedgerow plantings of arborvitae, sycamore, sweet gum and tulip poplar now provide the buffer required for organic certification as well as providing total seclusion from neighboring properties. In addition, a highly efficient 20 horsepower variable drive irrigation well system provides clean irrigation water that meets the requirements of the new federal food safety regulations.
This Farm was the first farm to be preserved in the state's Farmland Preservation Program and is one of five bordering preserved farms in the heart of historic Chesterfield Township.
