The asset is located adjacent to the Rockville Metro Station, which is part of Metrorail’s Red Line system. The Red Line connects directly, without transfer, to some of the most significant cultural and employment centers in the Washington region, including downtown Bethesda, the NIH, American University, the Smithsonian National Zoo, Union Station, and the heart of Washington, DC’s K Street corridor, among others.
A total of 5.5 miles of wire have been installed to power customer experience improvements at the Rockville Station. This is equivalent to more than 52 Washington Monuments in length.
The station provides 21,000 square feet of canopy coverage for customers, which is nearly the size of 4.5 basketball courts.
On average, there are 28,000 customer shuttle bus trips per week, enough to fill the Kennedy Center Concert Hall more than 11 times.
The Red Line is the only line in the Metrorail system that does not share its tracks with another line. It serves as a primary line through downtown Washington and is the oldest, busiest, and currently most traveled line in the system.
