The Inn has 23 rooms on three floors, 14 guest rooms and 9 suites. The rooms have been upgraded during the current owner’s tenure. The polished floors, new furnishings and fixtures in a majority of the rooms complement the historic surroundings that make this property so special. The suites are spacious and include seating areas, with premium pullout sofa beds, some with two bedrooms and some with mini-kitchens. The suites are targeted for families and couples traveling together. The guest rooms for business travelers, vacationing singles and couples. All rooms feature king or queen beds and a few with twin beds, all with private baths, air conditioning and Direct TV. The range of room and suites sizes, configurations and amenities and rates offer the diverse travelers flexibility and choice. The dining room and tavern are open for lunch and dinner and has a 100 seat capacity. Private parties up to 120 and off-site catering is a nice additional portion to the dining business. A private meeting room, Baitler Board Room, can hold up to 18 guests. Guests and diners enter the Inn’s entry flanked by a porch with rockers facing the main street. There is a cozy seating area opposite the reception desk. A very warm and welcoming first impression. The Inn is conveniently located in the heart of the village. Downtown Kennebunk has recently gone through a major revitalization. The streets are lined with over flowing flower beds, new sidewalks and reproduction antique street lamps. Store fronts and buildings have a fresh new veneer and stylish boutique shops have given the main street a new vitality. The Waterhouse Center town ice skating rink is located next door and provides great social activity to the community year round. The historic buildings continue to be the focal points of the community. In addition to the historic Inn, the library, town hall, churches, private homes and mansions and the Brick Store Museum, the Kennebunks history museum, are all prominent historic treasures. The nearby beaches and the village of Kennebunkport are accessible by car or the town trolley that stops at the Inn. Day trippers have a wide variety of coastal towns, lighthouses and Maine byways to explore. The area is a primary tourist destination which offers a multitude of attractions. A place on many first visit ‘bucket lists’ as well as a ‘return trip’ destination location. One apartment on the property is currently occupied by staff and two dorm style rooms can be utilized for seasonal help or intern housing. One of the larger suites on the third floor was the owner’s quarters and can be utilized for that purpose again.
