Ocean House began as a two-story beach cottage built in 1937 on a forested bluff overlooking Agate Beach in northern Newport, Oregon. The last family to use it as a home, converted it to a bed and breakfast in 1986 after their children were grown. Over the years, as the demand grew for this beautiful setting, they began to add more bedroom suites. The final addition was completed in 2000. The name Ocean House was reborn honoring the first hotel in Newport, which is now home to the US Coast Guard. Although ownership has changed over the years, the tradition of beauty, comfort, and charm first found in the original beach cottage lives on.
