This historic site was once owned by John Quincy Marr, the first Confederate Soldier killed in the Civil War. John Quincy Marr built the manor in 1855 for his mother, sisters and himself. Unfortunately, Mr. Marr would not enjoy his home for long. In 1861 at the Fairfax Courthouse, he became the first confederate officer to be killed in the Civil War.
