The Gulf County Canal connects the Gulf of Mexico with the U.S. Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, running approximately 1,050 miles from Carrabelle, Florida, to Brownsville, Texas. This navigable inland waterway provides access via the inland river system to major cities such as Chicago, Pittsburgh, Memphis, and Tulsa. The Port is served by AN Railway, which connects to the CSX Transportation Class I mainline. The Port offers direct access to I-10 via SR-71. It is located just 21 miles from the Apalachicola Regional Airport via U.S. Highway 98 and 57 miles from the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Panama City Beach.
