Idlewild Mobile Home Estates is a former mobile home community that burned down in the 2018 Paradise Camp Fire. The property comprises 4.26 acres on 1 parcel with 35 mobile home spaces and 2 recreational vehicle spaces. After the fire, substantial capital improvements were made to rebuild the community, which included excavation for a total cost of $74,766 in Phases 1 & 2. PG&E is also contracted for the utility conversion program, which started pre-construction. Paradise is located above the northeast Sacramento Valley in California’s Sierra Nevada foothills. In 2010 the town population was 26,218. On November 8, 2018, the Camp Fire devastated most of Paradise and neighboring towns. Paradise’s population was depleted post-fire but grew sharply in the following years, rising to 6,045 residents in January 2020. Paradise is served by Paradise Unified School District and several private schools. A milder climate, occasional winter snows, and an engaging environment make Paradise a popular destination for retirees.
