About South Financial District

Boasting San Francisco’s newest and most prestigious skyscrapers, the South Financial District is emerging as the epicenter of the city’s thriving downtown core. The neighborhood’s new Transbay Transit Center and its 5-acre public rooftop park, in combination with office and multifamily buildings developed around it, have injected new life into the area.

Designed for the modern workforce, the glass-curtained buildings have redefined the city’s skyline and attracted an influx of global tech titans and highly educated professionals. Exceptional public transportation access enhances the area’s viability, and an underground tunnel will eventually connect BART commuters to the new Transbay Transit Center. The neighborhood is also located within walking distance of San Francisco’s Caltrain terminus station.

Financial institutions including BlackRock and Wells Fargo, and law firms such as Morrison Foerster LLP, are among the neighborhood’s largest employers. The area appeals to businesses from a broad range of industries, and its diverse tenant base includes Gap, Sephora, and Academy of Art University, as well as a growing list of tech firms headlined by Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
