It is centered on State Route 28 (especially where it overlaps with State Routes 132and 48), approximately midway between Milford and Blanchester. The community of Goshen was founded in about 1799 by German and English settlers, most of whom had migrated down the Ohio River from western Pennsylvania after fighting for the Colonies during the American Revolutionary War. The museum offers period furnishings, photographs and memorabilia, flower gardens and locations of war soldiers of different wars, dating back to the Grand Army of the Republic troops buried in Goshen cemetery. This once was home of the Hawkins family. Also is Cook Farm, an 1825 (circa) restored log cabin and farm. Goshen is 22 miles northeast of Cincinnati, and 40 miles south of Dayton, Ohio.
