Dan Krysiak, Senior Managing Director
A Senior Managing Director in Newmark’s Boston office, Dan Krysiak is a key member of the firm’s five-person Route 128 team, which focuses on advising both landlords and tenants. Prior to joining Newmark, Krysiak worked for 10 years at McFarland & Finch, a boutique commercial real estate firm in Boston.

Over his 19-year career, Krysiak has represented several of the area’s top suburban landlords, such as Berkeley Investments, The Davis Companies, Equus Capital Partners, The Nelson Companies and Taurus Investments. He currently represents more than 1.5 million square feet of Route 128 leasing assignments.

Some of Krysiak’s notable landlord agency assignments include the Waltham Watch Factory, a 400,000-square-foot historic brick-and-beam property on the banks of the Charles River; and University Office Park, a two-building, Class A park adjacent to Brandeis University.

Krysiak has also represented several notable tenants throughout his career, including American Institutes for Research, Benchmark Senior Living, Continuum, Genuine Parts Company and Great American Insurance.

Krysiak has been recognized by Newmark several times as a top broker nationwide. In 2011, he received the Grubb & Ellis Circle of Excellence designation for exceptional performance, and in 2012, 2013 and 2015 he earned Newmark’s Top Producer recognition.

Krysiak is active in his community as a board member and coach of youth basketball.
Steve Purpura, Executive Vice Chairman
Steve Purpura is an Executive Vice Chairman at Newmark, based in the firm’s Boston office. A leading force in Boston’s rise to nationwide life sciences prominence, Purpura brings more than 30 years of experience advising institutional owners, developers and occupiers across office and life sciences real estate, with deep expertise in Boston and major U.S. gateway markets.

In his role at Newmark, Purpura partners with the firm’s top teams on complex leasing and strategic real estate initiatives, with a focus on the Boston region and other key innovation-driven markets nationwide. His work is centered on helping clients navigate evolving tenant demand, infrastructure requirements and long-term growth strategies in markets shaped by research institutions, capital formation and innovation ecosystems.

Purpura most recently served as President of Beacon Capital Partners’ Life Science platform, where he helped lead the firm’s life sciences strategy and portfolio growth. Prior to that, he spent several years at CBRE as a Vice Chairman with leadership responsibilities across the Northeast. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Transwestern and served as a Partner at Richards Barry Joyce & Partners.

Blake McLaughlin, Managing Director
Blake is a Director on Newmark’s Medical-Academic Practice Group. She has been with the firm for almost ten years. Blake spends much of her time on real estate transactions within the Longwood Medical Area, the Fenway, Mass General Hospital, Tufts and the adjacent Medical-Academic real estate clusters. On the tenant representation side she works with Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston Medical Center, Boston Public Health, Joslin Diabetes, Simmons University, South Shore Hospital, and many others. Her landlord clients include Samuels & Associates, Equity Commonwealth, Alexandria Real Estate, AEW, IQHQ, HTA, and many others. Blake grew up in Belmont, Massachusetts and currently lives in the Boston Seaport. She graduated from Newton Country Day School and Boston College and has lived in the Boston area her entire life. She enjoys spending time down the Cape in Harwich Port and she is a big movie buff.
Frank Nelson, Executive Managing Director
Frank Nelson joined Newmark’s Capital Markets team in 2015 as an executive managing director of the firm’s Medical – Academic Practice Group. A position he held at Cushman & Wakefield where he worked previously since 1980.

Frank has advised on transactions in excess of 20 million square feet and is recognized as one of Boston’s premiere experts on navigating the real estate metrics within Boston’s Medical – Academic clusters (Longwood Medical Area, Mass General Hospital, Boston Medical Center, Tufts) and adjacent to Medical and Academic campuses throughout New England.

Mr. Nelson is honored and privileged to work with some of Boston’s most respected institutions including, Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston Medical Center, New England Baptist Hospital, Boston University, UMass Building Authority, Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Joslin Diabetes Center, South Shore Hospital System, Simmons University, Merrimac College, Dimock Health, The Church of Christian Science and the State of Massachusetts. Recent major sales include 109 Brookline Avenue for EQC to IQHQ, The Kenmore Square Portfolio for Boston University, The Sunday School Building and 235 Huntington on behalf of The Church of Christian Science, The Charles Street Portfolio on behalf of Massachusetts Eye and Ear, The Boston Medical Center Portfolio to Bentall Kennedy, 140 The Fenway for the Forsyth Institute sold to the MFA, The UMass Biotech Park on behalf of Alexandria sold to UMass, The Steward Health Portfolio, and The Hebrew College Campus in Newton. Other major sales include The Center for Life Science, One Brigham Circle, Landmark Center, Ten Brookline Place, One Brookline Place, Newton Pavilion to the State of Massachusetts and the purchase of 801 Mass Ave from Bentall Kennedy to Boston Medical Center.

Frank began his career in Cushman & Wakefield’s Chicago office where he was the junior broker on the Sears Tower and John Hancock Buildings. He was the first broker assigned to open C&W’s Boston office in 1984.

Frank and his wife Kathy live in Scituate, MA and they are parents to Matthew, Michael and Laura, who now reside in NYC. Frank graduated from Brookline High School and Middlebury College and is an avid golfer and youth hockey coach with the Cape Cod Whalers.
