This beautiful eight-story hospital contains 199,182 square feet on +/-2.39 acres and includes 100 upscale inpatient private rooms (including 16 ICU and 6 isolation rooms), six operating rooms, an imaging center, two cath labs, two vascular labs, two electro-physio labs, commercial kitchen, two surgical education theaters and a vacuum tube system connecting the nurse stations to the lab, pharmacy and emergency department. The attached 4-level parking garage provides parking for 387 vehicles.
Overall, each floor contains approximately 25,000 square feet, with controlled-access staff areas separated from public common areas. Eight elevators serve the building with two serving the parking garage. While central sterilization is located on the 6th floor, the remaining floors have flash sterilization stations.
A vacuum-tube transport system connects the nursing stations, pharmacy, lab and emergency department to maximize staff time with patients. Floors 3 through 5 are nearly identical, with each containing a staff lounge and family waiting area and are designed so each floor can be divided into two autonomous inpatient pods. The east side of each of these three floors contains 12 private beds, a nursing station, and utility/ supply/soiled/storage rooms, while the west side differs in that it has 16 private beds. Of the 28 private suites, 2 are VIP rooms, and 2 are isolation rooms.
The commercial kitchen contains two walk-in refrigerators, a walk-in freezer and two preparation areas to serve the needs of the admitted patients, staff and family members. Three 600 kW diesel emergency back-up generators run in tandem, fueled by a 6000-gallon underground storage tank.
