Known for breathing new life into communities by developing centers with character and soul, Frontier seized the opportunity to acquire a blighted shopping center that straddled the gateway to two cities — Garden Grove and Stanton. Built in the early 1980s, the center had been largely vacant for nearly a decade and also presented environmental issues due to a former dry cleaner on site. Leveraging their team’s strong city relationships, Frontier proposed an inviting new mixed-use development to include 100,000 square feet of retail and 208 residential units by Brookfield. Slated for completion in early 2020, the new center, named 22 & BEACH, will include a compelling mix of experiential and traditional retailers. At the heart of 22 & BEACH will be Rodeo 39, a public market comprised of numerous restaurants, a brewery, bar, coffee shop, unique retailers, an arcade, and programmed outdoor space with games, a fire pit and seating areas for dining and lounging.
