The Thunderbird Motel is a cozy twenty room motel. Each of the rooms have individual microwaves and refrigerators, outside entrances, own self parking space, free Wi-Fi, free local call service. Behind the Motel, within our leisure park, there are propane grills and picnic tables for the guests to use. The lobby offers copy and fax services plus complimentary coffee and snacks in the morning. Pets are welcome to stay and there is a large yard for walking dogs. Situated on U.S. Route 36 (US 36) which is an east–west United States highway that travels approximately 1,414 miles.Thunderbird Motel was built in 1958. It has a long history in Marysville. Since it operates in a small, thriving community, the biggest clientele are the people who come to the community to complete work projects. . We have relationships with many companies who always stay with us when they are in the area. Many of the these people are here from Monday through Friday for weeks at a time. Another big area of business comes during hunting season. From September through December, the Thunderbird welcomes hunters from all over the United States. There are many hunters who return here year after year. The rest of our clientele is a mix. The Thunderbird is a well-established business with a long list of regulars who stay here, and also many people passing through who stop in. The main building is 6,402 square feet. It is constructed of concrete blocks faced with bricks. The exterior is very low maintenance. All of the rooms open to the outside. The director's apartment has two bedrooms and two baths. It opens into the lobby where guests are greeted and check in. The Thunderbird Motel is located on Highway 36. The Thunderbird Motel sign can also be seen from the junction where Highway 77 north meets Highway 36. The Thunderbird is the only motel on the west side of Marysville. It's a beautiful place, surrounded by nature and has the most wonderful Sunrise and Sunset. We do not advertise. We do not have a website. We do not have any billboards. The Thunderbird Motel operates on word of mouth advertising and people who enjoy staying at mom and pop operations. A new owner could implement some advertising and see the profits rise greatly! The land that the motel sits on is over two acres. It includes lots 5, 6, and the north half of 7 . There are picnic tables and grills for the guests to use. There is also a stand for hunters to hang deer on and a sink for cleaning birds. Along with the main building, another building which is 968 square feet is also included. It is currently being used as a workshop and for storage. There is another unit that is also used for storage within the grounds. The RV park is another source of income and a lot of future potential for any other type of business (Truck Parking, Gas Station, Aquatics Center , Retail Stores, etc.). The motel is served by a Rural Water District and city sewer service, and is supported by the thriving community that surrounds it. It is within the city limits, but has a rural, rustic and relaxed vibe.
