About Florence
South Carolina is regularly among the fastest-growing states in the country, and industrial users in the Florence area are well-positioned to serve that population. The Florence area is just over an hour’s drive from the coastal market of Myrtle Beach, and less than two hours from the state capital of Columbia and the major port market of Charleston, positioning it at the center of some of the state’s most quickly expanding metropolitan areas. That has attracted logistics operations from food distributor Cheney Brothers, internet retailer QVC, and Amazon.
With easy access to Interstate-95, the East Coast’s busiest trucking corridor, the Florence area is directly connected to two of the Top 10 most active ports in the United States in Charleston and Savannah. Closer to home, the state of South Carolina has also invested in infrastructure to support the state’s large agricultural export market as well as growth in logistics and manufacturing operations. Honda’s longstanding Timmonsville production facility has been joined by an AESC battery factory, among other major manufacturing relocations or expansions.
These employers benefit from lower land costs, access to a growing labor pool, and specialized talent training programs through the state’s community college system.
