The major north/south highway near the site is I-77, running from Cleveland, Ohio, to Columbia, South Carolina. The main east/west route near the site is S.R. 39, which connects New Philadelphia to the Amish country to the west. U.S. Route 250 runs diagonally, northwest to southeast, through the state and New Philadelphia. Traffic counts on I-77, near the proposed location, are showing 42,120 vehicles per day, average annualized daily traffic (AADT). The count on S.R. 39, west of I-77, is 7,270 AADT. According to the latest census data, Dover had an estimated 2016 population of 12,843, a decrease of 0.2% since the 2010 census. The city had a median household income of $44,083; a per capita income of $24,657; and a median house value of $107,800. By way of comparison, the state of Ohio had a median household income of $49,429; per capita income of $26,953; and a median house value of $129,900. Tuscarawas County had an estimated 2016 population of 92,420, down 0.2% from the last census. Directly east of the proposed location is the Warther Museum and Gardens.
