Description
The entire property originally a nursery, its use changed during World War II when the shop which currently stands on the site was constructed by government grant. Then, after the war, the first fiberglass boat was built in that same shop. The historic marker was erected on the site in 2005. The family of the current ownership began assembling the land in the late 1950s, and in the early 1960s submarines were designed on-site to be used in the 1965 James Bond movie, Thunderball.
