The Vine is situated in the affluent and desirable village of Hannington, in the county of Hampshire. The village lies approximately 8 miles northwest of Basingstoke, 11 miles south of Newbury and 14 miles northeast of Andover.
Hannington is centred around an attractive village green, surrounded by a number of Grade II listed properties. The area is popular with cyclists, equestrians and hikers enjoying the stunning landscapes surrounding the village. The Vine acts as a popular stopping point for hikers following the Wayfarer’s Walk across land understood to have once belonged to the estate of the Duke of Wellington.
The area lies a short drive from the M3 at junction 6 (Basingstoke) which in turn provides fast road access to the M25 at Chertsey. The M4 also lies a short drive to the north at Newbury. Mainline railway services are available from Basingstoke providing services into London Waterloo as well as Southampton, Portsmouth and the South West.
Furthermore, services are available from Reading providing fast lines into London Paddington, Oxford and Guildford. Due to the strong communications available in the area, this part of the country is a popular residence for commuters.
