Orpington is a mixed commercial and residential town located within the administrative area of the London Borough of Bromley. It is located approximately sixteen miles to the south-east of Central London, four miles to the south-east of Bromley and ten miles to the north-west of Sevenoaks. The A224 (Sevenoaks Way/Cray Avenue) runs immediately to the east of the town centre and connects with the A20 (London to Folkestone) about two miles to the north. The A20 in turn connects with the M25 (London orbital) motorway junction 3, around four miles to the north-east. Junction 4 of the M25 motorway also serves Orpington and is around four miles to the south east of the town centre. Orpington railway station provides a regular service to Central London with the fastest journey time of approximately sixteen minutes (to London Bridge station).
