Description
The site contains over 960 million tons of Limestone reserves and 920 million tons of Sandstone from the Lee Formation of Pennsylvania age. The Sandstone drilled from the 500-foot high outcropping known as Hells Point Ridge, was put through five mechanical tests, including LA Abrasion and Silica Dioxide, and qualified for TDOT Type I-IV aggregate with an average of 72% better than specification, making it ideal for non-skid surface course asphalt paving mixes. There are no natural gas wells existing on the site, however, there is a substantial opportunity for a buyer to tap into a natural gas pipeline along the northern border if desired. There are also numerous producing oil/gas wells on neighboring properties, a positive sign that there is oil/gas in the immediate area.
