About Meacham Field

Situated between downtown Fort Worth and Alliance, the Meacham Field area is among the most active industrial zones in Tarrant County. Great airport access and highway connectivity are two value propositions for tenants leasing space. Interstate 35 West and Loop 820 quarter Meacham Field and enable goods to move easily across North Texas and beyond. Meacham International Airport is a hub for general aviation in Tarrant County. The majority of existing industrial space was built during the 1970s and 1980s. The typical tenant profile includes shipping and distribution companies. For instance, DHL is the largest tenant in the area, taking over 1.4 million square feet; Mattel is taking a 1-million-square-foot building; Amazon is taking about 785,000 square feet in sum across two distribution facilities; and Del Monte Foods is taking 690,000 square feet.

Construction activity jumped five years ago as industrial developed ramped-up across Dallas-Fort Worth. Since then, existing inventory in Meacham Field has expanded about 25%, driven by several build-to-suit projects. Leasing activity is robust, and vacancies have trended below the Dallas-Fort Worth norm. Rent levels are just above the Dallas-Fort Worth norm and are comparable with other industrial hotspots such as Lower Great Southwest Dallas and Southwest Dallas.

Whit began his commercial real estate career in the Transaction Real Estate group at Ernst & Young after graduating from the University of Texas with a Master of Science of Finance and Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
