Bio
Alireza (Ali) Esmaeilzadeh serves as the Chief Asset and Portfolio Officer at GGP. In this role, he leads the asset and portfolio management teams while providing strategic oversight on development projects.
Ali joined the organization in 2018 following the acquisition of Forest City Enterprises. During his tenure, he has held key leasing and asset management roles across office and retail sectors, as well as executive development roles for multifamily and office asset classes. Before joining the company, Ali led the New York City offices for a prominent real estate development firm. He began his career as a banker in the investment banking division of Scotiabank in Toronto, Ontario.
Active in his community, Ali serves as a trustee on the boards of The Brooklyn Hospital Center and The Acting Company. He is also a board member for the Times Square Alliance, the Greenpoint Manufacturing Design Center, and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he serves as chairman of the MetroTech Business Improvement District, board member and secretary of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, and co-chair of the American Heart Association’s Wall Street Run & Heart Walk.
Ali earned his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada.
