Dan Mitchell serves as Executive Vice President in Weitzman’s San Antonio office, where he focuses on retail tenant representation, project leasing, development consulting, and investment sales across Texas and select national markets. In his current role, he advises retailers, developers, and ownership groups on site selection, market expansion strategies, lease negotiations, and disposition activities. Mitchell’s responsibilities include representing national and regional retail brands, coordinating multi-market rollouts, and supporting development initiatives for shopping centers and single-tenant retail projects. Over the course of his career, he has completed more than 12 million square feet of retail transactions, including over 300 restaurant deals and more than 1.5 million square feet of retail development transactions, with more than 2 million square feet negotiated in Texas alone.
Prior to joining Weitzman, Mitchell held senior real estate leadership roles with national retailers and advisory firms. His early career included real estate and expansion responsibilities with McDonald’s Corporation and Wendy’s International, where he supported large-scale restaurant growth programs. He later served in executive real estate roles for Highland Superstores, Silo, and Linens ’n Things, overseeing real estate, design, and construction initiatives across North America. Mitchell subsequently joined Katz & Associates, where he served as Executive Vice President of Development and Senior Vice President for the Midwest region, representing numerous national retail brands and co-developing more than 1.5 million square feet of shopping center space. After relocating to San Antonio, he joined Weitzman as Executive Vice President and continues to leverage more than 45 years of commercial real estate experience in support of the firm’s retail-focused brokerage platform.
