David Lipson is CEO of Savills North America. His responsibilities include oversight of all Savills business lines and locations in North America, as well as mergers and acquisitions and strategic business development pursuits. David has dedicated more than 33 years of service to Savills and is one of the firm’s most tenured and respected leaders. He co-managed the Mid-Atlantic region for almost 15 years and served on the firm’s board and executive committee since 2004 and 2014, respectively.
Formerly one of the most successful brokerage professionals in the Washington, DC region, David and his team completed real estate transactions totaling more than 92 million square feet, across well over 1,500 tasks on behalf of the US Government, and the team’s relationships are ongoing. Additionally, during David’s brokerage tenure, he and his partners represented many of Washington’s leading private sector tenants, including many of the country’s most important law firms, government contractors, not-for-profit organizations, and major corporations
Formerly one of the most successful brokerage professionals in the Washington, DC region, David and his team completed real estate transactions totaling more than 92 million square feet. In addition to assisting the General Services Administration with its 198 million-square-foot portfolio of leased space, David and his team represented agencies including the State Department, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Securities and Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Federal Housing Finance Agency, Census Bureau, Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Veterans Affairs, and other agencies on assignments across the country, completing well in excess of 1,500 transactions on behalf of the US Government, and the team’s relationships are ongoing. David also represented the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the acquisition via exchange of 3 million square feet of development density in Cambridge, Massachusetts from the federal government.
Additionally, during David’s brokerage professional tenure, he and his partners represented many of Washington’s leading private sector tenants. These clients include some of Washington’s most important law firms, such as WilmerHale, Williams & Connolly, Pillsbury, Arent Fox, and McGuireWoods, among others. For more than 20 years, David represented the RAND Corporation and the Institute for Defense Analyses on a national basis. His corporate clients included CVS Health and Carlyle Group portfolio companies.
Awards, Achievements and Activities
David currently serves as chairman of the board for the British Schools and Universities Foundation. He is a member of the Board of Benefactors at Christ Church, Oxford and the Parents Committee at Dartmouth College.
