Bio
David Strosberg founded The Morningside Group of Companies in 1993 as a real estate investment and development firm focused on mixed-use and multi-family properties. He oversees the acquisition, development, and operation of the firm’s portfolio. These premier properties establish Morningside as a market leader in creating exceptional environments for living, work, shopping, and entertainment. The organization maintains offices in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Austin, and Ann Arbor.
Prior to founding the company, David was a senior executive with the Equity Group in Chicago, general partner of a national property investment firm, and a construction project manager.
He received a MBA in Real Estate from Columbia University in the City of New York and a BS in Architecture from the University of Michigan’s College of Architecture & Urban Planning. He funds a merit scholarship at the college in memory of his mother.
David is a licensed architect in Michigan and an instrument-rated, private pilot. He flies missions for Veterans Airlift Command and Angel Flight Central. He is a recognized donor to Chicago Academy of the Arts and the Latin School of Chicago.
For his pioneering work in the revitalization of its downtown, he was named Business Person of the Year by the Royal Oak (Michigan) Chamber of Commerce. The Chicagoland Apartment Association presented three Morningside buildings with its highest "Property Excellence" awards: Elmhurst 255, Fort Sheridan Place, and River 595. Morningside's Wheaton 121 Apartments received a prestigious "Vision Award" from the Urban Land Institute. David's expertise in urban redevelopment was recognized through speaking engagements for the Urban Land Institute, Illinois City Management Association, and the Illinois Municipal League.
He is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, and his wife, Jory, and their three children reside in an historic loft in the River North neighborhood of Chicago.
