Bio
George McMahan has been a Lubbock resident since 1962 when he moved here from Smithville, Texas to attend what was then Texas Technological College. He went into the motorcycle business, founding G & G Honda Sales, later to become Honda of Lubbock, in 1965 which he operated at 4810 Avenue Q, then 5730 West 50th and finally at 6207 19th. George sold his dealership in 1996 to focus on his newly found love of residential land development; he developed Papalote South, a one-acre county subdivision, with a partner beginning in 1995, then went off on his own and developed Bacon Crest, Primrose Pointe and Estates at Vintage. All have become highly sought after neighborhoods full of beautiful homes and excellent residents. His business philosophy is to be honest and fair, provide a service or product that people need, and success will follow naturally. George has actively participated in the West Texas Home Builders Association for over 28 years and served as President in 2013. He has been recognized with numerous awards, such as Outstanding Philanthropist, Business of the Year, Heroes of the Year, Distinguished West Texan and Champion for Business just to name a few. Now, after a brief retirement, George is back full time into development featuring three subdivisions for you to choose from. Highland Heights and Highland Trails are both located in the very desirable Shallowater school district and Centerpointe is located on North University just adjacent to the soon to be built Lubbock County EXPO Center and is in the highly sought after Lubbock ISD.
